00I. full name: Dante0II. canon or original: semi-canonIII. years of age: 5 years0IV. gender: male
00V. country and city: France, Paris
0VI. alignment: chaotic goodVII. orientation: heterosexualVIII. occupation: guard dog of the King of Paris
0I. body type: Slender0II. physical description: Dante is a fairly big dog, thanks in part to his wolf mother. He gets his colors from his father, who was a german shepherd/husky mix. Dante possesses a silver coat all over, and his markings are typical with that of a german shepherd. He has a light grey underbelly. The tip of his muzzle is tinged with a dark grey, and his eyes are a deep emerald green. His left ear has a couple small chunks taken out of it, thanks to a fight with other strays in the streets of Paris. Dante has always carried himself rather highly, but not enough to be considered pompous. He doesn't care much for his appearance, believing that his personality is what makes him unique.III. height: 35 in0IV. weight: 100 lbs00V. eye color: Emerald0VI. extra: N/A
00I. overall personality: The first thing that most notice about Dante is his unwavering loyalty, especially to his people and to Clopin. He is also a natural-born leader, having been a leader of a small pack of strays during his younger years. He is objective, independent, quick-thinking, and adaptable to just about anything. He has a knack for being able to predict the outcome of events thanks to his keen observation of the world around him. He is highly intuitive for a dog, and he relies on his intuition to guide him. He is clever and silver-tongued, much like his owner. Like his namesake, he is worldly, and enjoys listening to poems and stories. He's very easygoing, unless someone close to him is in danger.0II. strengths: Dante is loyal to a fault, which sometimes lands him in bad situations. He is well-read for a domesticated canine, and is probably one of few dogs who is literate. This comes in handy when Clopin goes off on diplomatic missions. He is also strangely intuitive.III. weaknesses: Dante is judgmental at times, harshly judging those who speak badly about those he cares for. He's also a perfectionist, believing that absolutely everything he does has no margin for mistakes. Dante is also well-known for being stubborn.0IV. goals: Dante's only goal is to protect the King and his people from any harm. Other goals may be determined in the rp.

-Esmeralda0II. overall history: Dante was born to a wolf and a german shepherd husky mix back when Frollo still ruled Paris with an iron fist. He grew up a nomad, never really knowing his parents as he traveled the Parisian countryside. He never really had a name, except for "that mutt" or "wolfdog", because of his large paws. As a young dog, he survived off of stealing chickens and sheep from farmers in the countryside, which led to him being persecuted. The farmers vowed that they would have his pelt, and Dante escaped under the cover of night. One day, he came to Paris, and he made the city his home, as he could get handouts a lot easier, especially from the butcher, who fed the stray dogs that showed up at his backdoor. A few years later, during Frollo's last year, Dante gained an owner: Clopin Trouillefou. The gypsy king had a soft spot for dogs, and took in those that needed help(besides those that had followed the rest of the gypsies to their home in the Court of Miracles). Now, when Clopin had met Dante, he didn't see a dog that needed help.
Instead, he saw a dog that was already fiercely independent, and able to survive on his own. This intrigued the gypsy king, and he offered Dante a home with plenty of food, and a spot right next to the king's throne. Dante didn't take long to consider the offer. A spot next to the king of the gypsies? Who could possibly turn that down? Clopin bestowed the name Dante upon him, for his intelligence and hunger for knowledge. Of course, Clopin had other dogs such as the golden-furred Virgil, but in his heart, Dante was always the most loyal and his favorite. Dante was the dog that often accompanied Clopin on diplomatic trips, being that he was even-tempered and extremely docile, for a wolfdog. But whenever his master was in trouble(even though he could hold his own), the silver-furred canine was right there beside him, ready to fight tooth and claw in the name of loyalty. At home in the Court of Miracles, Dante loved listening to stories told by the other gypsies, and especially to those stories from the few books that Clopin owned, including the epic poem written by his namesake.
Since Clopin became King of France, Dante has remained by his king's side as his guard dog, despite the rumors he's heard of Clopin playing a part in the former king's death.III. sample postThe gypsy king was in his makeshift chambers, separated from the rest of his “home” by the colorful cloths and satin fabrics weaved by the skilled women of their Parisian tribe. He hadn’t found much time to go out and tell his fantastical stories to the children above ground, as he was preparing for a diplomatic mission to another city in France. Suddenly, a familiar flash of silver swiftly entered, pushing aside the satin curtains with a paw.
“Mon roi, forgive me for interrupting you.” the silver canine said, with a quick bow of his head. Clopin turned to find his ever-faithful dog standing there, with his head still bowed in respect. He couldn’t help but smile and shake his head, as he rose from his bed and walked over to Dante, patting his head gently as he knelt before the wolfdog.
“Dante, how many times have I told you! You have no need to treat me with such formality! Now, what is it? Has someone’s hair caught fire again?” Clopin asked, with a laugh, as he rested one arm across his bent knee. The canine shook his head, as he gestured behind himself.
“No, unfortunately. Luka and Marko were on their evening patrol, and it seems that someone has followed Claire into the catacombs.” Dante said, his emerald gaze locking onto Clopin. The gypsy king frowned for a moment, before smiling again.
“I don’t see what the worry is about! That is why I commissioned the new entryway! If they followed Claire, I’m certain that they haven’t found their way into the court at all! She’s a smart girl, she knows exactly how to make an intruder get lost in our catacombs.” Clopin said, as he reached out to ruffle Dante’s fur.
“Nothing to worry about!” Clopin said, as he stood up, intending to head back to whatever boring treaty he had been poring over. But before he could take a step, Dante spoke again.
“There is something to worry about, mon roi. The intruder…they’re in the new tunnel.”
The gypsy king turned slightly, and narrowed his eyes. Perhaps Claire hadn’t been paying attention this time. His jaw was set, and without another word, he marched out of his quarters. If there was an intruder who had been smart enough to accomplish that…it was up to him to protect his people at all costs. He paused in his step, before looking back at the wolfdog with a serious expression.
“Dante. Grab my best men and meet me at the exit. We will just have to deal with our visitor with our usual…charm.” Clopin said, with a devilish grin.
