00I. full name: Clopin Trouillefou0II. canon or original: Canon(Hunchback of Notre Dame)III. years of age: 280IV. gender: male
00V. country and city: France, Paris.
0VI. alignment: neutralVII. orientation: bisexualVIII. occupation: King of France
0I. body type: Slender and lanky is the best way to describe his body type.0II. physical description: Black hair that goes down to the shoulders, complete with a neatly trimmed goatee. His skin is very tan, and his eyes are a dark brown, almost black. In his normal clothes, he wears the same purple outfit seen in the image above, with a trim of gold. His left ear is pierced with large, golden hoop earring. He almost always wears a large hat, similar to a tri-corn, with a large yellow feather. He has alternate outfits for different occasions. The outfit that he is most commonly seen in is his "royal" outfit, which consists of a long, deep purple robe, trimmed with marten fur dyed a golden shade. This rests on top of his usual purple tunic and hose. For some occasions, he will wear his crown, but he usually prefers to wear his hat. Although he is king of all France, he is a champion of the people, especially his own people. He has a pretty good record of personal upkeep, but his royal chambers are a complete mess(but almost no one outside of the chambermaids knows that). In a room full of people, one can tell when the gypsy is present, because he brings quite a lot of life to the party.III. height: 5'90IV. weight: 144 lbs00V. eye color: Dark brown0VI. extra: N/A
00I. overall personality: Strange. He's playful and silly, and tends to pull his puppet and strange voices out of nowhere to comment on his own speech. He has a tendency to be able to pull charm out of thin air. He has a dark side, in which he viciously defends those he considers his good friends, to the point of killing the enemy. The same goes for criminals brought before him the the royal court. He sees himself as grand and important, although he comes from humble beginnings. As a king, Clopin has far more responsibility on his shoulders than he has ever had before. The weight of having to watch over not just his people, but all of Paris causes him stress at times. He strives to be benevolent, but not so much that the people take advantage. He is also a bit of a trickster sometimes, and he loves being sarcastic. He is known to sacrifice quite a lot when it comes to the good of his people or those he cares for.0II. strengths: He is quite loyal to those he considers his closest friends, and he is quick-witted. If there's a story that needs to be made up, or a good comeback to be tossed at someone, Clopin's the guy. He's also pretty experienced with blades and weaponry, along with his own magic.III. weaknesses: He is extremely quick to act brash, and quick to anger, although he is attempting to work on it. He is easy to hate, and quite boastful when it comes to his accomplishments.0IV. goals: He wants to be above those who gave him hell when he was still king of the gypsies. As a king, his goal is to keep his country and the people of France safe from harm. Also, he must protect his book of comebacks from Nasira.
00I. notable family & friends:
-Esmeralda(adoptive sister)
-Dante(guard dog and closest confidant)
-Virgil(guard dog and close confidant)0II. overall history: As a child, he was part of a nomadic tribe of gypsies that came to stay in Paris because they were able to find a place to call home, in the catacombs underneath Paris. They called it the Court of Miracles, and that is where Clopin has spent most of his life, aside from his life outside of the Court, in order to survive. His parents were the “king” and “queen” of his tribe, and he was to be next in line should anything happen to them.
When Clopin was around 10 years old, his parents had gone on a trip outside of Paris to Calais, and they returned with a small girl that they said was handed to them by another tribe of gypsies who could no longer care for her. She was named Esmeralda, and she became Clopin’s adoptive sister, and he cared for her like no other, raising her and teaching her how to dance.
Some years after that, his parents left again to another city in France, and when they returned to Paris, they had been given another baby to care for. This baby was quite deformed, and his mother wanted nothing to do with the supposed “demon child”. Clopin’s parents felt sorry for the boy and offered to bring him to the Court of Miracles, where any and all outcasts were made to feel welcome.
But on their way back, the two were apprehended by Frollo and his soldiers(they were the couple at the beginning of HoND), and his father was taken away, while Frollo chased after his mother and the baby. He kicked her down the stairs leading up to Notre Dame, and the impact to her head killed her. Frollo took the boy in, although more out of fear of God than guilt for what he had done. When news came to Clopin of his parents’ death, he became a boy king. Years later, he never blamed Quasimodo for what happened, as it wasn’t the bellringer’s fault.
For a few years, his father’s advisor helped Clopin, but as soon as he turned 18, he was left to rule on his own. Aside from that, not much is known about Clopin himself, even to those closest to him.
As of the current times, Clopin is the King of France. Absolutely no one is sure as to how he managed to become the king, but there are rumors that Clopin may have had a part in his predecessor's death, as he had been getting mysteriously close to the former king as the head of king's top secret assassin ring, eliminating political enemies and dangerous criminals for him.III. sample postClopin’s smirk fell as Nasira summoned up a shield to protect herself from his melee of dark magic. He gritted his teeth, hoping that at some point, the shield would break. And to his unusual stroke of luck, it did. One of his projectiles found its way to Nasira, slamming right into her. For a moment, the ghost of a smile crossed the gypsy king’s face. But his moment of triumph was short-lived, as the necromancer rose up again, with magic to retaliate.
The demons’ voices were really starting to give Clopin quite the headache, as their grating tone uttered suggestions from every direction. He could barely register the spells coming straight at him.
Shut up, will you? Clopin shouted inwardly. And as quickly as they came, the voices died down, allowing him to finally concentrate. With their power enhancing his magic, the gypsy king dodged the ice spell, but the dark magic grazed his shoulder, slowing him down once more.
”What’s got into you, Clopin?”
The gypsy whirled around, as he finally showed signs of mild exhaustion. He held a gloved hand to his shoulder, as he locked eyes with Nasira.
“Why Nasira, whatever do you mean? I haven’t changed at all.” Clopin said, drawing out the last syllable. He straightened his posture, and smiled, as if nothing were wrong. The purple aura surrounding him grew fainter, as if to show that perhaps his inhuman magic was not real. It was enough to put anyone at ease, if only for a brief moment. His lips curved into a devilish grin, as he danced around innocently.
“I’m still the same gypsy king you’ve always fought against! Nothing has changed!” Clopin said, bending backwards to look at Nasira upside down. He then turned back around to face her properly, before looking to the palm of his gloved right hand, as if he were merely inspecting it. His fingers slowly curled and uncurled. He laughed, and the tone was chillingly foreboding.
“Ah Nasira, mon ami.” Clopin began, as he took a step towards her, shaking his head slowly.
“Perhaps you’ve forgotten that justice is...swift!”
His scythe appeared from thin air, and within the blink of an eye, Clopin swung the blade out towards Nasira once more. The dark magic surrounding the blade extended further from its reach, enough to slice the necromancer wherever it happened to land.
